The order can’t ship without the script.
Compoundly is B2B ordering for veterinary compounding pharmacies. Every item on every order points at a prescription or an approved exception — not as a validation step somebody can skip, but as a constraint the database refuses to break.
Built for the way the work actually happens
Not a general e-commerce platform with a compliance plugin bolted to the side.
Phone orders are first-class
Most compounding orders still arrive by phone. A CSR takes one as themselves, with the clinic named — never by logging in as one of the clinic’s vets. The audit trail says who actually placed it.
Changing a flavor doesn’t lose the Rx
Swapping size or flavor edits the line in place. The patient and the prescription stay attached, because nothing was deleted and re-added to make the change.
Exceptions leave a permanent record
A tech can request an item with no script on file. It reaches the order only when a supervisor approves, and the request survives forever either way — including the denials.
Patients persist across orders
The animal is a record, not a note in a comment box. Refills count down against the authorization they belong to, and a reorder reuses the script already on file.
One price list per account
Flat tiers, applied consistently. No per-customer overrides quietly drifting apart and no price edits recorded as untraceable discounts.
Vets can order themselves
A clinic portal that works on a phone, showing that clinic’s own pricing and nobody else’s — while the pharmacy keeps taking phone orders exactly as before.
Built around the prescription, not around the cart
Every line on every order carries its patient, its prescriber, its directions and its refills — not because a screen was designed to show them, but because the line cannot exist without them.
Order #1041
Most systems reach this by adding a compliance module to a store. Compoundly was built the other way round: the prescription is the record everything else hangs off, so there is no path through the product that produces an order without one.
Where it is today
Compoundly is being built with a design-partner pharmacy, running against their real catalogue, real customer accounts and years of real order history — not a demo dataset. We’re talking to a small number of additional compounding pharmacies now.
